With over 85 years of experience, Santens has grown into a trusted one-stop shop for construction professionals. Their extensive product catalogue is available both in-store and online, with large stock volumes across five locations in Flanders. However, many customers still relied on manual or paper-based reordering processes on-site or in their workshops.

To offer a more streamlined experience, Santens wanted a mobile app that allowed customers to quickly reorder by scanning product barcodes, while still leveraging the full power of their Magento-based e-commerce platform.

Our solution

Together with our sister company eWings, who developed the Magento Open Source webshop, we implemented our proven Scan 2 Order module. This solution provides a smooth integration with Magento’s API and enables a seamless switch between mobile scanning and web-based checkout.

Key features include:

• Barcode scanning to instantly add items to the shopping basket

• Smart redirect to the Magento webshop for order finalization

• Real-time sync of product details, stock levels, and pricing

• User-friendly experience, even in dusty workshop environments

The mobile app was built using Flutter, ensuring cross-platform support for iOS and Android with a consistent look and feel.
